Changing Interior Lights On a MKV *WITH PICTURES*

DISCLAIMER:If you do somthing dumb and mess up your mkv or burn/cut yourself its not my fault
Ok so this is a relatively easy mod, can get a bit frustrating for the visor and footwell lights but is all common sense so you shouldnt have any problemsOk first you need
Somthing to remove trim and such(can use a fancy trim remover or be cheap and any creditcardish thing, i used a pacsun giftcard)
A torx t20 driver
4 thin pieces of metal (razorblades cut up soda can, knives?)
either
LEDS all leds ordered from superbrightleds(real fast delivery like 3 business days, nothing to complain about)(check for links at bottom)
-2-3 WLED-x4 LED Wedge Base Bulbs for the rear domes, some cars take 3 some take 2, if your not afraid to drill they can all take 3 though)
-2 WLED-x4 LED Wedge Base Bulbs for the front domes
-2 WLED-x4 LED Wedge Base Bulbs for the footwells
-2 WLED-x4 LED Wedge Base Bulbs for the visor lights

Instructions

First go to your car get in and shut of the lights, the bulbs get real hot, real fast, so go get all your stuff while you wait for them to cool!

First get whatever your going to use to remove the trim and use it to pry of the lens cover, help with you hands, you might have to use decent force
Click the image to open in full size.
Once removed it should look like this and have either 3 bulbs or like mine 2 bulbs and an empty socket
Click the image to open in full size.
but for some reason the lens cover doesent always have 3 holes(i have a lease so i cant drill T_T) if anyone feels kind and has an extra lense so my poor leasing self can drill the whole for the third please tell me lol
Click the image to open in full size.
then just pull out the bulbs(will take some force and wiggling) and put in the leds, if it doesnt work just turn them around leds are polarized
Click the image to open in full size.
Put on the lens
and done
you have your led modded rear domes!

FRONT FOOT WELL GUIDE

Okay the front foot well is sligtly more of an annoyance
Step one
(i forgot to take pictures of the removal, but its just like the other lights:))
use a card to remove the light
its impossible to turn of so it will be warm, so do it fast so theres not to much time for it to heat up
once its out youll have a cable attatched to it thats a bit stubborn but squeeze the pins and it will come out xD
the light will look like this
Click the image to open in full size.
i then put a knife in on all four of the sides and just slid the metal casing off
then use the knife to gently push the bulb out
with the bulb out it will look like this
Click the image to open in full size.
then just insert the led bulb
Click the image to open in full size.
but dont put the metal on yet
go to the car and try to plug it in and if it lights up your good, if not just use the knife or what not to push the light out and flip it around
then slide on the metal piece, it will snap into place
plug it back in
snap it in the slot
and tada
you have a moded footwell light
repeat on the other side and your done
Finnished product!

Front Dome
Ok
Turn off you lights and let them cool before you get to work
Then use your trim removal tool to snap of the vent like piece
Click the image to open in full size.
Then use the torxdriver to undo the two black screws and use a flathead screwdriver to undo the last to clamps
Click the image to open in full size.
then turn the black rectangular light housings ninty degrees and theyll pop right out, switch the lights
Click the image to open in full size.
Now test them before you re install the housing, if they dont work just flip them since there polarized
tada
done
Finnished picture coming soon, to bright out to take a good one xD
