brake pads are mad easy...1)take off wheel 2) unbolt the four bolts that hold the brake pads to the rotors ((brainfart when it came to the name of this part of the brake system))...once you unbolt those bolts and pull the setup off the rotor..the brake pads should fall right out with very lil influence and replace with new pads and reverse the steps taken..its a 15 min job...

you don't unbolt brake pads from a rotor.

you remove the caliper which is mounted to the carrier that straddles the rotor.

THEN you can remove the pads from the caliper.


and you also forgot you'd have to reset the pistons in the calipers in order to get them back on the assebly.

and if you're working on a VW, you'd have to use a special tool to reset the pistons in the rear, as you can't just push them in with a C-Clamp like you can with the fronts. they have to be turned as they're reset.

this is not a 15 minute job.

and this is all assuming you're not going to remove the rotors to have them resurfaced or replaced.
